Fury U12
Beat Bluewater
Sarnia Fury
U12's travelled
across town
Wednesday night to
take on Bluewater.
There was a large
crowd on hand as
both teams already
knew the importance
of this game.
Anthony Fazzalari
was put to work
early making some
good saves as
Bluewater got off to
a good start
creating chances
from Labadie,
Primeau and some
darting runs from
Ohuegbe.
Bluewater continued
to press but could
not penetrate the
strong defensive
work in the middle
by Dylan Caron and
Taylor Janzen.
Sarnia managed to
get back into the
game when Richael
O'Neill drove hard
into the box and
sent a perfect low
pass to the penalty
spot where Kraig
Durco drilled into
the back of the net.
This lifted Sarnia
who finished the
half strong. Right
on half Bluewater
pushed with one
final effort when
McCormick lobbed
Fazzalari in net but
also just over the
bar.
Once again the
second half was a
battle. Bluewater
looking for the
equalizer with Van
Bilsen shooting over
the bar and a
Bluewater free kick
narrowly missing the
target.
Sarnia also
countered well with
some through runs
from Konnor Harris
and Craig Gunn
working well down
the left. Still
Bluewater pushed and
were rewarded when a
carbon copy of the
Fury's goal was
scored by Matthew
Doidge with a hard
shot into the roof
of Fury's net.
Both teams were now
looking for the
winner. Dan Vallee
came close with a
long range free kick
which was saved.
With not long to go,
Fury were awarded a
penalty when Richael
O'Neill was brought
down in the box.
O'Neill calmly
stepped up for Fury
to take a 2 - 1
lead.
Last 15 min saw both
teams battle but
neither managing to
penetrate. Final
score 2 - 1 Fury.
Congatulations Fury
