The Sarnia Fury Regional
U18 boys started off their season last weekend in the WOYSL
Kick Off hosted this year in Strathroy. The league plays the
teams that they meet up with in their regular season for a
chance to take home the champion kick off cup.In game one
Sarnia went up against Guelph Royals losing 2-0. Their
second game they came back fighting to take the game 2-1
against the Windsor Caboto. The second day they met up once
again with Windsor Caboto and the tied game went into
penalty shots where the Fury was defeated 1-0.
Semi finals proved interesting. With a short bench of 10
players due to injuries the Fury held off Guelph and scored
making the winning score 1-0 and securing them a spot the
following day in the finals.
Windsor and Sarnia fought hard in the final game and
Windsor lead the game 2-0 fairly early in the game. The
fury, with 9 men on the pitch tied up the game and scored in
penalty shots giving the Fury the win 3-2 against Caboto and
bringing home the champion Cup.
The two shut outs go to Keeper Matt Nutt. The scorers for
the weekend were Wes Bach, Anthony Litrenta, Sean Robinson,
Eric Bandiera, Colin McArthur and Colby Bucci.
