The Sarnia
Fury “A” started on the attack right off the bat. The
Bluewater defenders held their players in check
throughout the half. Bluewater was awarded a penalty
shot about 10 minutes into the half and striker Nicholas
Iacobelli stepped up to take the shot. He hit a hard
shot but it was just over the crossbar.
Shortly after that Jack Bedard took a shot from afar
that one of the Fury defenders hit but the rebound came
right to Jakeb Gray who blasted the rebound into the
back of the net for his first of the year. Bluewater
had other opportunities but could not beat the Fury
goalie. The Fury also had chances but Bluewater goalie
Tracer Mackay made some brilliant saves.
Half time score: Lightning - 1 and Fury “A” - 0
The second
half saw the Fury come out firing, as they went on the
attack right from the get go, and were rewarded with a
goal off a corner kick right off the bat. The Bluewater
defenders were running around and none of the Lightning
players were marking like in the first half. Again the
Fury scored off a corner kick when the ball was sitting
in the box and one of their players knocked it into the
back of the net. One of the Fury forwards scored from
the left side when his long lofting shot went over
Mackay’s head to give Fury a 3-1 lead. After some
changes, the Lightning settled down and had a couple of
chances only to be turned away by the Fury goalie. The
Fury scored another goal in front of the net to increase
the lead and finished off the scoring with a shot from
the slot.
Tracer played an excellent game in net or the score
could have been higher.
