Sarnia Boys Soccer

U8

U8 Highlights from July 2nd

CEPU (2) vs Harvey's (4)
For CEPU: The boys had a solid first half and had many opportunities but could not get through the Harvey's goalie. Spencer Baillie got the 2 goals tonight's. Great offensive chances for Hayden Snauwaert, Connor Post and Ryan Macklin. Playing well on defence was Brody Phillips, Cole Phillips and Liam Miller. Nathan Abbott helped his team along with some great passes. Jarron Brown and Caleb Wiersma were in net and both had some good saves.

Hazlitt/Steves/Harris (1) vs  Chalmers (6)
For Hazlitt/Steeves/Harris: Nohuah Hazlitt scored the only goal from a nice rebound off a Cole Morgan shot. Kevin Robertson and Durham Langille both made great saves in keeping the blow out contained.
For Chalmer's: Cole Goosens had numerous goals in the game.

Contro Valve (5) v Langtree Controls (0)

For Contro Valve: there was an excellent team effort again this week with a strong win.  Coming off the injured reserve list, Carter DeSantis (with 7 stitches in his knee) played a solid defensive role sending the ball up into Langtree territory for most of the game.  This allowed all our midfield players to set up our forwards for a total of 5 goals.  Blake Hogan found the back of the net twice and singles were scored by Mann Shah, Eric Desrochers & Michael Pugsley scoring his first for the season.  Nick Chopp & Liam Chadwick each posted a shut-out in net.

For Langtree: Langtree team worked well defensively in first half. Tyler made some great saves to finish first half with minimal score of 1:0. Jonathan K. and James made some runs through the Contro Valve defense, but unable to get in position to seriously threaten opponent’s team net. Second half brought more pressure from Contro Valve and good saves from Jonathan W. Owen did great job carrying ball down the field. As game progressed in second half, Langtree players got tired. With 3 players missing and Stefan helping team while not feeling well, Deklen and Benjamin had to step in.

Tim Horton's (0) vs Silk Screen (0)
For Tim's: Mavi Deol and Blake Lindemann were "hot" in goal, pulling off at least 4 good saves. Joel contributed solidly in the middle, making several good passes and intercepts. Damon Skinn-Wai, Jonah Schaller, Logan Watson, Cole Rogers and Brian Monteiro had several probing runs down the middle but missed scoring by very narrow margins. Benjamin and Austin were very very effective in defense and never gave up keeping the pressure on the attackers.

John's Restaurant had to fortfeit to Waymic Construction as they could not field a team.
