Highlights from July 30th
CEPU (6) vs Contro Valve (0)
For CEPU: Spencer
Baillie had a whopping 4 goals in the first half,
and Ryan Macklin, Brody Phillips and Caleb Wiersma played
some solid defence to help their goalie. Cole
Phillips had some great saves in net the first half
and then Spencer Baillie took over in the second and
had many brilliant saves himself. Adding to the
score was Hayden Snauwaert and Tairen Snauwaert with
single goals each. It was both
their third goal of the season. Jarron Brown and
Joel Schliehauf both had some good runs and passes
and Connor Post (always a valuable asset) had great
plays and passes on both offense and defense.

For Contro Valve: Blake Hogan & Chris Sanchez played
well in net making several great saves but in the
end, it was a tough night for team Contro Valve.
Even though no goals were scored, everyone tried
their best and had lots of fun. Better luck next
week.
Langtree
Controls (2) vs Tim Hortons (1)
For Langtree: First goal for Langtree scored by
Stefan Pisic after some good passing by Matthew
Davies. Second goal was scored by Jonathan King from
penalty kick. Langtree was dominating first half
with lots of good scoring opportunities for
Jonathan, Matthew, Brett and Stefan. Tim Hortons
goal keeper was up to task, allowing only one goal
in. Second half was more evenly played by both
teams. Deklen got involved in few midfield actions.
Tyler created some good chances for him and
teammates. James and Owen worked very well in th
midfield. Solid goal tending by Jonathan in second
half. It was nice to see him reading the game and
coming out of the net when needed.
For Tim's: Another fast, furious and entertaining
game without substitutes showed how well the boys
have improved over the season. Tim's boys held their
own against a decidedly superior team. Brian
Monteiro and Cole Rogers displayed great dribbling
skills and had several scoring opportunities but the
ball just would not find the net. The lone goal for
Tims came from a rising, well placed shot from Brian
assisted by a perfectly placed pass from Mavi Deol.
Exceptional performances in net from Austin Brouwer
and Benjamin Pozdyk helped keep the Langtree scoring
machine at bay. Bulldog tenacity and great defensive
work from Damon Skinn-Wai, Mavi, Joel Curtis and
Benjamin frustrated the Langtree attackers time and
again.
Waymic
Construction (4) vs Silk Screen (1)
For Waymic: Mark Bridge
lead the way with 2 goals also scoring was Evan
Kinchsular and Nathan Oliphant each finding the back
of the net. A special thank-you to coach Jerry and
his team for loaning us a player so we could play 7
on 7. Excellent sportsmenship from Silk Screen.
John's
Restaurant (5) vs Hazlitt/Steves/Harris (4)
For H/S/H:
Unfortunately, H.S.H. battled hard to only come up
short against John's Restaurant. The 5-4 win by
John's was a fast paced game, that was one sided
early with John's 3-0 halftime lead. The H.S.H.
second half rally was lead by Ayden Letang and
Nohuah Hazlitt each scoring 2 goals and their
teammates extra effort to battle back and not give
up.
Harvey's FC (0) vs Chalmers (4)
For Chalmers: Logan
Tardiff scored 3 goals and Cole Goossens score
1. Cole Cunningham and Kaz Gudelis were goalies for
the games and some great saves. |
