July 9th
Highlights for U8
CEPU (3) vs Contro Valve (3)
For CEPU: It was a hot night with no subs and an
illness which left the team less one player! The
boys were amazing, playing a fully stacked Contro
Valve, and they kept on fighting until the very end.
Ryan Macklin had his first goal of the season to
start it off and Spencer Baillie pulled through with
2 of his own. Hard defence and offence by Spencer,
Connor Post, Jarron Brown and Caleb Wiersma. Great
goal keeping by Tairen Snauwaert, Hayden Snauwaert
(who left due to illness) and Ryan Macklin.
For Contro Valve: The entire team came out tonight
and made lots of passing plays setting up Blake
Hogan who scored twice and Eric Desrochers with a
single. Michael Pugsley & Eric Desrochers also
played well in net making some great saves.
Hazlitt/Steves/Harris (1) vs Silk Screen
(4)
For Silk Screen: We won our first game with goals
coming from Owen Dunn (2), and Dylan Riddell (2).
Both teams played hard, it was a very enjoyable game
to watch.
For H.S.H. again this week Nohuah Hazlitt scored the
only goal.
Chalmers (6)
vs Langtree (3)
For Chalmers: Cole
Goossens 2 goals, Logan Tardiff 2 goals and 1
penalty goal, Cameron Havers 1 goal. Logan
Tardiff 1 assist, Brandon Cotter 1 assist, Cole
Goossens 1 assist.
For Langtree: All 3
goals scored by Jaxon Shelton. Langtree team played
well in first half with Tyler on the net and strong
defending from Jonathan King, Brett and Stefan.
Midfield was controlled by Langtree in this half.
James, Mathew, Jaxon, Jonathan W. and Owen did good
job moving ball and exhibiting some good passing
skills. Langtree team left half time with 2 goals
lead. In second half, Chalmers team stepped up and
kept most of the play on Langtree’s half. Langtree
defense fall apart under strong pressure from
Chalmers. Breakthrough runs by Mathew and Jaxon were
not sufficient to turn game around in Langtree’s
favor.
Tim Horton's (1) vs Waymic Construction (6)
For Tim's: Despite the "finally-here"
summer heat, illness in the ranks and the
unrelenting attacks from a decidedly superior Waymic
performance, Tim Hortons put up a brave fight and
finally succeeded in scoring a spectacular goal in
the dying minutes of the second half, thanks to an
unstoppable high crack at net by Seth Pynaert
amid loud applause from the yellow gallery. Valiant
efforts by Jonah Schaller, Logan Watson, Cole
Rogers and Blake Lindemann deserve special mention.
For Waymic: Leading the scoring was Mark with 3
goals with Callum scoring 1 plus doing a great job
in net the first half. Everyone played excellant
defense along with passing the ball. The lone goal
came from Seth Pynaert for Tim Horton's team.
