Highlights from June 25th
CEPU (4) vs Langtree Controls (4)
For CEPU. Spencer Baillie scored early in the first
and the boys controlled most of the half. After a
successful penalty shot for Langtree, the game
started to turn in their favour. With about 7
minutes to go in the game, Spencer put on his best
performance and battled his way through a great
Langtree defence to score 2 more goals. Right near
the 50 minute mark, CEPU was awarded a penalty shot
and Cole Phillips used the opportunity to secure his
team the tie! Great defence by Connor Post, Brody
Phillips and Liam Miller. Ryan Macklin, Joel
Schliehauf, Nathan Abbott and Caleb Wiersma all had
some great passing plays to help thier team. In net
were Tairen Snauwaert and Hayden Snauwaert.
For Langtree: For most of the game Langtree was in
control and having a 4 to 1 lead with 5 min to
go. When CEPU managed to score 3 goals to tie it up
right at the end of the game. Jaxon again lead the
team scoring all 4 goals. Matthew, Tyler and James
all played well in the midfield while Jonathan and
Stefan made some nice plays to prevent a couple good
scoring chances on defence and getting the ball
forward for the attack.
Silk Screen (1) vs John's Restaurant (3)
For John's: 1st goal - Brandon Poole scored off a
nice set up from Ryan Moses. 2nd goal - Brandon
Poole again on a penalty shot.
3rd goal - Ryan Moses converted on a set up from
Brandon Poole. Alex Simeonakis was rock solid in net
and made a number of key saves.
Waymic
Construction (1) vs Harveys (4)
For Harveys: Goal
scorers Nolan Degurse -3, Kaleb Zetinoglu -1,
goalies Brenda Bouterse and Garrett Patterson
Waymic Constrution
suffer only their second loss of the season to
Harvey's 4 to 1. The only goal scored was from Evan.
The team played short handed but they gave it their
all.
Tim Horton's (1)
vs Chalmer's (1)
For Chalmers: Cole
Goosens scored the one goal.
For Tim Horton's: Seth
Pynaert scored the one goal. This was an intense
game for both teams. Cole Rogers was exceptional in
goal, pulling off at least 4 brilliant saves. Logan
Watson paid his dues in net in the first half and
was outstanding in attack in the 2nd, coming close
to scoring several times with one notable shot
sailing just above the net. All players have been
displaying remarkable passing efforts. Of note were
Joel Curtis and Mavi Deol providing timely
interventions and stubborn defence from Benjamin
Pozdyk, Austin Brouwer, Seth Pynaert and Blake
Lindemann.
Contro Valve (5) vs Hazlitt/Steves/Harris (2)
For Contro Valve: there was a huge team effort
tonight and it showed in the final results. Blake
Hogan assisted Eric Desrochers in scoring 4
fantastic goals tonight and he was rewarded by the
parents on the sidelines doing “the wave” for him.
It was Nick Chopp’s 8th birthday, and he
also celebrated by scoring an un-assisted goal after
relentlessly fighting his way to the net. Our first
half keeper was Michael Pugsley who earned a
shut-out & Mann Shah only gave up two in the second
half helping the team out to a big win this week.
Congratulations to the entire team who played with
so much enthusiasm and effort…well done!
For H/S/H: Most recently
H.S.H. has lost to Contro Valve 5-2. A much closer
game than the score would indicate. Ayden Letang
and Nohuah Hazlitt each scored for H.S.H. and Liaam
Hogarth stopped a penalty shot keeping the score
close at the time.
