Sarnia Fury U14

Sarnia vs Wallaceburg

The Fury travelled to Wallaceburg on Monday June 29th,  heading from a rainy thunderous Sarnia to clear skies above the Kinsmen Field.  Absent were Daniel Cicchelli and Corey Soden, whose spectacular defensive moves were missed.  Back from the injured list was Kyle Mackin, who appeared as though he had never been out of commission.  Nursing a broken toe, but still able to play, was Tyler Vynckier.

Each athlete worked well to keep control of the game and in the opposing end of the field, and 5 times the Fury were rewarded with their efforts.  Each time the ball went deep into the back of the Wallaceburg net, past the keeper, sliding down the mesh, and coming to rest well into the opposition's lair.  Trevor McEwan was first to score the only goal in the first half.  Daniel Vallee took a free kick, and sent a ball to Patrick Gagliardi.  Patrick quickly scanned the field, and passed to Nick Vozza.  Nick saw Trevor waiting, and sent it across where Trevor drove it "home".

Rather quickly in the second half, Daniel Vallee scored a top shelf goal from an assist sent by Anthony Fazzalari.  The third goal was from a corner kick that Tyler Vynckier wound up, ran at the ball, and sent flying in front of Wallaceburg's net.  One of the players from the other team, in an effort to gain control, deflected the kick into the net to give Tyler credit for the score.  Fourth goal was again from Trevor McEwan assisted by Patrick Gagliardi.  Patrick had taken a pass from Daniel Vallee and directed it into the front of the keeper's box where Trevor was waiting.  The fifth and final goal was from Daniel Vallee off a free kick.  Good game Daniel  Keep up the effort! Final score was 5 - 0 for Sarnia.  Nick Speed posted another shutout.  Way to go Fury! Without each one of you covering your positions as well as you did, your teammates wouldn't have the opportunities they do to score and win the game.  Play as a team, win as a team!
