Fans came out for an
exciting game on Monday when the Fury faced
Wallaceburg at the Dante Club.
Sarnia was down three players, with Nick Vozza being
away, and both Kyle Mackin and Daniel Vallee
injured. The pace was quick, the race was on, and
the players from both teams were kept running up and
down the field for the entire game. First to score
was Patrick Gagliardi for the Fury. The fleet
footed Gagliardi ran towards the net when a shot
from Trevor McEwan hit the post. Patrick deflected
the rebound off his chest and directed it into the
net past the Wallaceburg keeper. The pass to Trevor
came from a head shot sent to him by Spencer Gormant.
Spencer, having the height advantage, has the knack
to send the ball in any direction, and took the
opportunity to send it up the field where Trevor was
waiting. The first half of the game ended with a
score of 1 - 0 for Sarnia.

During the second half,
Wallaceburg managed to slip one past Nick Speed, who
played a spectacular game in net, stoning the
opposition 17 times during the plays in his box.
Very quickly Sarnia turned the tables on
Wallaceburg, dominating the plays for the rest of
the game. Patrick "Gigs" Gagliardi came close quite
a few times during the game, hitting the crossbar
and skimming the outside of the net. Spencer
Charlton had a breakaway from the opposing team and
went streaking towards the opposition's goal box.
With a fast and furious shot, he aimed right at the
net. Unfortunately the Wallaceburg keeper reached
out and stole Spencer's opportunity to score another
goal for our side. Nice try Spencer!! Tyler
Vynckier took a corner kick, sending the ball high
into the air in front of the Wallaceburg keeper, who
deflected it right back to where Tyler still was.
He wound up and with that powerful left kick sent
the ball up into the top right corner of the net, so
far outside of the keeper's reach that he didn't
stand a chance of stopping it, and as it turns out
it was the game winning goal! Wallaceburg came
close to tying up the game, but Kyle McNeil ran into
the Sarnia box and stopped a goal from going in when
Nick Speed couldn't get back in time. The team
played well together, with some great passes by
Daniel Cicchelli, Kyle McVittie, Corey Soden, and
Kevin Leatherdale. Final Score Fury 2 - Wallaceburg
1.
Way to go Fury. You played as a team - YOU WON AS A
