Sarnia vs Petrolia

Sarnia faced
Petrolia this Monday night, and a cold night it
was!! Fury parents were bundled up on the edge
of the field throughout the match, cheering on
their boys and hoping for the win. From the
start the larger Petrolia team had the Fury on
their toes. The opponent played a great passing
game and because of that they were rewarded with
a 4 goal lead going into the second half.
During the first half Sarnia's goalie Nick Speed
was taken out by a Petrolia player, and Anthony
Fazzalari stepped into the net to cover for Nick
until he was ready to come back in during the
last half of the game.
Once Sarnia shook
the cold off and started playing the game future
opponents will cower from, the Fury bounced back
and kept the Oil Barons from scoring more than
two goals for the rest of the game. Trevor
McEwan scored for Sarnia from a pass sent by
Spencer Gorman. Trevor streaked past the
Petrolia team and dumped the ball into the net.
Anthony Fazzalari, Patrick Gagliardi, Nick
Vozza, and Trevor each had close calls only to
be stoned by the Petrolia goalie. On two
occasions the Fury goalie was down, with Spencer
Gorman and Kevin Leatherdale each making
spectacular saves for the team. Although Sarnia
lost, the second half of that game proved yet
again that the Fury will be a team to reckon
with. Petrolia will not have such an easy win
next time. Final score was 6 - 1 Petrolia.
