Sarnia Spirit U10 Win Against Wallaceburg A
May 29, 2009

Sarnia hosted Wallaceburg A on Friday night in a game that had been rescheduled due to weather.
Sarnia started very quick and had Wallaceburg under alot of pressure. Sarnia's 1st effort came when Carmen Handy found space wide, a nice pass to the middle and Chloe Kennedy's shot came off the post.

Sarnia kept up the pressure with Centre Midfielder's Sydney Caron and Sarah McCormick controlling the game well and creating many chances. Sarnia eventually took the lead with a nice centre pass from Julie Blanchette to Chloe Kennedy who ran in to score.

Wallaceburg were quick on the offense, but strong defensive work from Daphine Himba, Mofoluke Obiri, Madisyn Mika and Alexa Eldridge all managed to break down their attacks. One final effort from Sarnia before half time came from a long range free kick from Daphine Himba that just sailed over the cross bar. 1 - 0 half time with Morgan Waggs getting the 1st half shutout.

Second half saw much of the same pressure from Sarnia. Skylr Melton and Bianca Sapone were causing problems down the wings.  Goal number 2 came from a weak goal kick from Wallaceburg had Mickayla Moses react the quickest and fire her shot hard into the net.

The chances kept coming from Sarnia as they started moving the ball well with their passes. Bianca Sapone was very unlucky with a couple of chances on the left side after some nice through ball passes from Sarah McCormick and Mickayla Moses.

Sarnia extended the lead with a long defensive ball from Mofoluke found Chloe Kennedy who beat the defence to shot low and hard for 3 - 0 lead.

Another smart pass from Sydney Caron found Julie Blanchette who's kick came off the post.
Wallaceburg scored to get themselves back into the game and put a bit of pressure back on Sarnia.
With a few minutes left a great 40 yard run from Sarah McCormick found Bianca Sapone in the clear. Bianca's smart turn fooled the Wallaceburg goalie and tapped in for Sarnia to win 4 - 1 final.

Great teamwork girls, the passing is starting to come together!
