Southwest London 1 Spirit 1

This was a difficult game for both
teams as both were involved in
Ontario Cup on the weekend.
Southwest failed to qualify but
they did win three games and lost to
OYSL Dixie in the final game.
Southwest came out the strongest and
controlled play for the most part in
the first half. They were rewarded
with a goal as Sarnia failed to
track back and the defensive got
beat. Sarnia did not pressure well
in the half and Southwest looked
good for the most part.
In the second half, Spirit found
their second wind and pressured with
some consistency. They took control
of the game and Jenna Prevost scored
to tie the game.
Sarnia remains in 3rd
place in league after this game.
Morgan Breeze, Sydney Mellon and
Jenna Prevost are in the league’s
top ten scoring and Karly Dobbin
leads the league in shutouts.
The Spirit are back in league action
on Wed July 29 when they host the
North London Galaxy at Veterans
Field.
