KICK OFF CLASSIC

 

 

The first game versus the Spirit went up against a strong Sault Ste Marie team.  The Spirit had a few chances but were unable to capitalize on them.  Final score 1 - 0 Sault Ste Marie.

 

The Spirit played a much better game versus Waterloo and capitalized on our opportunities taking the 3 - 1 win.  Jenna Prevost scored 2 with a single by Sydney Mellon.

 

In the quarter final game against The London City ladies, the Spirit spread the field extremely well and scored two goals in the first ten minutes and then shut down for the rest of the game to save energy. It was very pretty soccer to watch from Sarnia's point of view.  Final goal Spirit 4, London 0.  Jenna Prevost scored 2, Sydney Mellon and Marlowe Pecora each scored singles.  Earning the shut out was Karly Dobbin.

 

In the Semi Final North London scored in the first five minutes from another goal type scramble.  After the initial goal Sarnia spent the first half defending and chasing. The second half was better as they began to find some attacking progress. North London was awarded a penalty shot in this game from a block shot. Karly Dobbin made an incredible diving save to negate the chance. The Spirit were unable to score and took the loss with a final score of 1 - 0.
