Bluewater Lightning U-10 Boys Soccer

The Bluewater Lightning are now at 13 – 0 on the year  in LKYSL soccer action recording 2 more wins in recent action against Wallaceburg (7 - 1) and Sarnia Fury White (12-1).

On July 21 the Lightning were back at Suncor Park taking on the Wallaceburg Sting.  This game saw a fairly evenly played first half, but once again the Lightning were able to score the games first goal as Dante Fuoco was able to redirect a corner kick in the the back of the net.  Shortly after, Mitchell Neal converted a pass from inside the box to make the score 2 – 0.  Wallaceburg, to their credit, fought hard in this game and were rewarded with a goal just before the half to narrow the lead to 2 – 1.  Wallaceburg came out determined in the second half to find the equalizer.  However, on a Wallaceburg corner kick Tristan Haagsma was able to gain possession and bring the ball the length of the field drawing the Wallaceburg goalie out and passing over to a streaking Lucas Ross who buried his shot into the empty net for a 3 – 1 advantage.  Bluewater was able to build on this momentum, scoring 2 more quick goals, as Mitchell Neal and Lucas Ross both scored their 2nd goals of the game.  The Lightning took control of the game at this point with Dakota Moore scoring a late goal for a 7 – 1 final score.

On July 27 the Lightning were matched up with the Sarnia Fury White squad and walked away with a 12 – 1 victory.  This was a very strongly played game by the Lightning, as they moved the ball around effectively through the game.  Tristan Haagsma led the way with 4 goals in this game, Tanner Van meenen added 3 goals and Dante Fuoco, Josh Vale, Dakota Moore, Lucas Ross and Levi Prinsen all added singles.  Rock solid defensive end play from Joey Ferrera, Josh Vale and Chris Harwood helped anchor the win, as they limited any opportunities in the Bluewater zone.
