2010 Bluewater
Thunder U11 Boys
Bluewater vs Middlesex United Rockets
July 5, 2010
|
The Bluewater Thunder U11
boys soccer team travelled to Strathroy to play the
Middlesex United Rockets under the lights. To the
disappointment of the boys, the power had gone out in
Strathroy and both teams agreed to play a shortened game
due to limited remaining light in the day. The Rockets
started strong and scored 4 minutes into the game when
the striker streaked down the left side and beat the
Thunder keeper with a high shot. The Thunder then
started to take over the game but could not find the
back of the net. Bluewater's Chris Dedecker hit a
perfect free kick off the cross bar and into the back of
the net, but the referee waived the goal as he claimed
to have called an indirect free kick. The Bluewater
strikers kept applying pressure and Matt Paquette and
Nicholas Iacobelli both had great chances stopped by the
keeper. The second half brought more of the same
chances and no goals for Bluewater until Nicolas
DiScanno scored on a loose ball in the crease to tie the
game at 1. Bluewater kept the pressure on Middlesex but
were unable to score.
Bluewaters next game is
Monday July 19th vs the London United Lightning at SCITS. |
