The Bluewater Thunder U11
boys played in the Tiamo Festival Cup tournament in St.
Catharine's and came away with a 1-2 record. They faced
off against Milton in the first game and totally
dominated the game from start to finish. The final
score was 4-0 but if not for the Milton goalie, should
have been a lot higher. The Thunder's Nicolas DiScanno
scored the first goal on a pass from Matthew Paquette
and that was the only goal Bluewater could score in the
first half. The second half saw Bluewater attack the
Milton goal in waves and were rewarded when Matthew
Paquette scored from Colin Yazdani and Nicholas
Iacobelli and then Diego DaSilva scored from Zachary
Matias and Michael Petrucci. Bluewater kept attacking
and it paid off as Daniel Cservik scored his first goal
of the season after recieving a cross from Chris
Dedecker. Marcus Cossa, Patrick Spenner and Burke
Roszell played strong defensive games and Stefan
Mallozzi earned the shutout.
Game 2 saw Bluewater play a
very strong Woodbridge "A" team, eventual tournament
champions, and came away with a 5-0 loss. Bluewater
played a very strong first half and were only down 1-0
at half-time. In the second half the Woodbridge team
showed how good they were and scored 4 goals to take the
victory.
The third game saw
Bluewater face off against another very strong team, the
West Hamilton U11's and again came away with a 6-0
loss. Bluewater played a good game but could not keep
up with this very strong squad. West Hamilton scored 4
first half goals and finished off scoring 2 more in the
second half.
The coaches were very
proud of the way the Thunder competed at this
tournament. |
