Sarnia Produce returned to
the pitch to face rivals Paddy Flaherty's in league
action. A quick pace started the game as both teams
utilized great passing. In the 10th min of play, on a
Produce defensive error, Paddy Flaherty's capitalized by
netting the first goal on substitute keeper George
Stoukas.
The Azzurri seemed
determined to equal the score and maintained strong
pressure in the Paddy's end. Their best scoring chance
came on a free kick, late in the half, when veteran Theo
Tsaprailis hit the iron. The score at the half was
Paddy's 1 - Produce 0 .
The second half began
similar to the first as Sarnia Produce dictated most of
the play with Paddy's opting for a defensive role. Many
scoring chances arose however numerous missed shots left
the Azzurri trailing by one.
New second half
Produce keeper Okan Zeytinoglu kept the game in check
making huge saves when needed.
It wasn't till the 88th min
when the pressure finally paid off as Produces' team
leading scorer George Stoukas, deflected a free kick
into the back of Flaherty's net. On a feisty night of
soccer the game ended in a draw.
