U7 Highlights from
June 2nd
Trijan (Argentina) 0 vs TCS (Italy) 3
For Trijan: Great job in net for Jackson
Grasse and Carter Viglasky who both helped to keep
the scoring low. Great defense by Gavin Yap and
Hunter Burgess. Jackson Grasse had many good runs in
the second half but couldn't find a hole through a
tough goalie. Devin brown had some good passes and
Nate and Nicholas and Jeremy got in the mix more
than once. Good job boys, keep trying!
For TCS: Branyn Cooper (1), Aidan James (1),
Aaron Smith (1)
TCS/Lambton Scientific (Italy) used a very strong
defensive game to post their first shutout (3 - 0)
of the season. Branyn opened the scoring with a
five-hole shot midway through the first half. An
extremely well-struck shot by Aidan from the 18 yard
box, careened off the cross-bar into the net to
extend the lead to 2. Aaron was rewarded for his
shifty ball handling moves in the box with a
successful penalty shot. Excellent defensive play
was lead by Ethan, Om and Aditya. Julian, Scott and
Chad played great two-way games. I am very proud of
the team's commitment to sportsmanship, teamwork and
overall effort.
Tim Hortons (Ireland) 5 vs Magic Realty
(England) 4
For Magic: Thanks for the great
effort tonight! We played with only one sub and the
team kept up the pressure even when they were tired.
Thanks to our goalies Cyrus Sinopole and Benjamin
DaCosta. Jacob Drapotoy scored two goals, Kyle
MacDonald scored one goal and Cyrus Sinopole scored
one goal.
For Tim's: Great game by all our players,
Mitchel Schechinger scored our first goal and Ewan
Morrison scored our other 4 goals.
Sebastian Fraser
played really well for the whole game and our
new player Ethan Graig-Chad done a wonderful
job.
Little Caeser's (Holland) 4 - Car Wash
in the Grove (Brasil) 2
For Little Caesars: Congratulations to
Holland/Little Caeser's for their 3rd victory in
a row. Special mention goes to the entire team
of 8 boys for playing an excellent game
considering the weather. Excellent offense, goal
tending and defense for the entire team. Special
mention to Alex Weir for scoring his first goal
of the season.
For Car Wash:
Custom Plumbing (Portugal) 2 vs OPG
(Spain) 4
For Custom: An unassisted goal by Eric
Larocque in the first half and a later goal by
Eric off a brilliant pass from Tyler Vansickle
put the team ahead by 2 goals. Unfortunately,
victory slipped away due to a strong finish by
OPG which resulted in four goals in the last 15
minutes of the match. Once again the whole team
is to be commended for their efforts and
perfomance. In particular, Joshua Erba and Tyler
Vansickle put in excellent efforts.
For OPG:
2 golas from Owen and 2 from Jacob one of which
came from a perfectly place corner kick from
Thomas Mooney. He put it right into the goal's 6
yard box, on to Jacob's foot, then Jacob planted
it into the back of the net. His first goal was
a run from the halfway line around the players
to the net and the same with Owen. In the first
half we had Mitchell in goal he had to save a
penalty kick to keep the score at 0-0. The other
teams player kick the ball hard into the bottom
left corner of the goal but in the split second
Mitchell dived hard left like mad, an
outstanding save with his finger tips catching
the ball leaving it to rebound off the post then
quickly taking possesion of it. The rest of the
team played outstanding as well keeping in
position all game our players were. Thomas
Mooney, Jacob Dufour, Owen Dufour, Justin Kelck,
Joshua Beauvais, Mitchell Clarke, Cameron Hunt,
Lucas Kita, Liam Kuts, Ryan Yang. Manager Daniel
Bailey.
