U9 Highlight from
July 29th
Stones N Bones 1 (England) vs
Harvey's (Holland) 3
For SNB: Great night in net for Brody
Phillips followed by a good showing in net
for Tairen Snauwaert. great defence by
Hayden Snauwaert and Dylan Riddel (who
scored the one goal tonight). Cole Phillips
and Matthew Kirk had some good chances but
couldn't get it past a strong net minder.
Hogan's Pharmacy (Mexico) 3 vs Tim
Horton's (Italy) 2
For Hogan's: July
29th was a beautiful night to play soccer!
Hogan’s Pharmacy took on Tim Horton’s and
played hard for both halves. All the passes
and team work paid off with a 3-2 win for
Hogan’s Pharmacy. Jordan Butt was
exceptional in net again, making many great
saves to keep his team in the game. Hard
fought goals by Zander Campbell, Cameron
Havers, and Brandon Cotter were celebrated
by the team and fans all around. It was
such an exciting game to watch, going back
and forth with a lot of effort put out by
both teams. Kevin Robertson, Blake Brand,
Josh MacDonald, Ethan Pearson, and Tyler
Linker made some super passes and defensive
plays that helped Hogan’s Pharmacy see
another GREAT win! Keep up the team work
boys!
For Tim's: On the 29th of July Tim
Hortons was defeated by Hogan 3-2. Scoring
for Tims was Ryan Moses and Michael Amundson.
This is Michael's first goal this season and
it was a beauty.
Hazlitt/S/H (Ireland) 4 vs CEPU
(Argentina) 0
For Hazlitt: A superb pass by Brian
Monteiro assisted Andrew Czyczurko begin the
scoring for Ireland. The first half ended at
2-0 for Ireland with Nohuah Hazlitt sending
in the second marker. In the second half
Mark Barsoum lobbed one in over the goalie
to make it 3-0 and Nohuah made it 4-0 with a
perfectly placed shot from outside the
penalty area. Callum Morey had to work hard
in the first half to earn the shut out for
Ireland while Brian, also with a shut-out in
the second half, produced powerful goal
clearances to set up Nohuah, Mark and Liaam
with scoring opportunities. Luc Lacroix,
Aidan Atyeo-Griffin and Cole Cunningham
provided excellent support in defence,
denying, time and again, any scoring
opportunities to the opposition. Hunter
Radychewsky made some scorching runs down
the right flank and was great in midfield
supporting both forwards and defence as
necessary.
For CEPU: Local 672 played an
excellent game against a very tough
opponent. Logan Johnston and Eric Desrochers
as usual were spectacular in net, keeping
the score close. Everyone played an
excellent offensive and defensive game,
making H/S/H work for their goals. Patrick
Blais had one of his best games of the
season, as did Kodee Noel. Excellent passing
and game play from all the boys.
Langtree Controls (Spain) 8
vs Lehder (Brazil) 1
For Langtree:
(Jaxon Shelton 4, Stefan Pisic 2, Faycal
Krazini, Collin Zimmer) Langtree team
started strong and attacking from the first
minute. Faycal had strong game all around.
After few nice passes between him and Stefan
he got in good position and scored the first
goal of the game. Solid defending and
passing of the ball in the midfield allowed
Stefan to score two goals and Jaxon one in
the first half. Collin made 2 good saves to
keep Lehder team scoreless in the first
half.
Second half goalie was
Benjamin and he was solid. Chris, James and
Colin worked hard in midfield. Their hard
work paid off and Collin scored after a nice
pass from Chris, and Jaxon converted 3 more
actions in the goals.
