U9 Highlights from June 24th

Stones N Bones (England) 3 vs Hazlitt/S/H (Ireland) 4
For SNB: Great team play. First half in net was Hayden Snauwaert who had many great saves and was only scored on when a strong Hazlitt offence split him. Tairen Snauwaert and Dylan Riddel scored in the first half of the game. Second half saw Tairen Snauwaert in goal and he also had some good plays. Scoring in the second half was Hayden Snauwaert. Great defence by Brody Phillips, Sacha Wigget, Jacob DeCarolis and Luke Zweigle. Great chances for goals by Brody Phillips, Cole Phillips and Matthew Kirk.
For Hazlitt: 2 goals apiece from Mark Barsoum and Andrew Czyczurko ensured a 4:3 win for Hazlitt (Ireland) against England. Cole Cunningham once again put in a strong performance in net restricting England to only 3 goals.

Hogan's Pharmacy (Mexico) 2 vs Lehder (Brazil) 2
For Hogan's: June 24th saw Hogan’s Pharmacy (Team Mexico) play Lehder (Team Brazil) for a 2 all tie.  Both teams played hard and had strong goal tending both halves.  Hogan’s Pharmacy had Josh MacDonald score on a penalty shot in the second half to put them on the score board.   Shortly after that, Brayden Sanderson-Prevost made a beautiful pass across the Lehder net and Tyler Linker knocked it in for Hogan’s second goal of the night.  Great Game Hogan’s Pharmacy!  Nice passing and team work.  Keep it up boys!

Langtree (Spain) 5 vs Tim Horton's (Italy) 5
For Tim's: On June 24th, Tim Hortons tied Langtree 5-5. Scoring for Tim's was Ryan Moses and Riley Hall. The rest of the team played a large part in making the goals possible. It was a very tight game, as exciting as World Cup Soccer, well played by both teams.

Harvey's (Holland) 5 vs CEPU (Argentina) 1
For Harvey's: The first half was a very tight game with some great balls forward by both teams. A scramble in front of the CEPU goal resulted in Liam Miller’s first goal of the season. Eventually the Harvey’s forwards worn down the tight defence of CEPU with goals from Kaleb Zetinoglu (2) and Kaz Gudelis also with two  including a spectacular header from a direct kick just outside the area. A solid midfield game was played by Brendan Bouterse and Gavin Lauzon. The goalies were Evan Trigatti, and Ethan Hharte-Wynne.
For CEPU: Local 672 played well again this week against a very powerful opponent in Harvey's. Brett Riley scored our lone goal. Logan Johnston was phenomenal in net against a team that was relentless. Brayden Adrian had his best game yet and all the boys played their hearts out. Well done team!
