In Chatham last Thursday, Sarnia took it to Chatham early on a goal by Sam Lupi in the 2nd minute and padded the lead in the ninth minute on a goal by Naomi Parsons.  Tight defense by Sadie Gibson, Kelsey Prior and Elaine Larocque kept the ball away from the keeper and Alexa Leonard made it 3-nil in the 33rd minute.  Sarnia came on strong after the break and Sam Lupi scored again just two minutes into the the 2nd half on a great feed from Kadin Siopidou-D'Andrea. Lupi returned the favour in the 49th minute assisting on Siopidou-D'Andrea's goal. Emily Sparham rounded out the scoring in the 70 minute as she redirected a long arching indirect from Lauren Wilson. Emily Peckham picked up the easy shutout.

Middlesex United Invitational
Strathroy, Ontario

June 5th and 6th

Port Elgin 2, Sarnia 0
The team played in their first tourney over the weekend at the Middlesex United Invitational. The tournament, with two 25 minute halves per game, was challenged by the heavy rains that came late in the week and the first game was moved to an undersized school pitch. Despite outplaying the Port Elgin squad and having hit a post and cross bar in the process, Sarnia came away on the losing side of a 2 - nil score.

Sarnia 2, Chatham 1
In the Saturday afternoon game, Sarnia met Chatham for the second time in three days and dominated play from start to finish. Naomi Parsons scored in the 24th minute and Amy Bennett made it 2-nil in the 32nd minute. Chatham picked up a goal on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute.

Sarnia 2, Etobicoke 0
The win over Chatham allowed Sarnia to draft Etobicoke Energy as their next opponent on Sunday morning. Once again, Sarnia dominated from start to finish but after scoring two early goals both by Naomi Parsons on great feeds by Sadie Gibson, Sarnia struggled to put the ball in the net.

Stratroy 2, Sarnia 1
The scoring trouble continued for Sarnia but they did manage to take the lead on a goal by Sadie Gibson. Strathroy got that one back just before the half. The teams took turns pressing in an evenly battled contest and Strathroy came away with a victory scoring the winner with just over a minute left to play.
