Tough Loss for Sarnia Spirit U11's
 
Sarnia U11's recently lost to Norwest in London with a score of 3 - 1.
Sarnia created alot of chances during the game, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The game started with a few early chances, Skylr Melton found space on the right wing and sent a nice cross to Chloe Kennedy who's shot was saves. Abigail Zalewski then came close with a free kick outside the box. Sarah McCormick then played a nice pass through to Skylr Melton but her shot was saved. Hannah Coy then sent a back post cross over to Sarah McCormick but again Norwest managed to stop the shot. Bianca Sapone hustled hard on the lft wing and managed to cut inside but her left foot shot was stopped. Norwest then sent a ball through and scored to take the lead against the run of play. Sarnia responded quickly and Mickayla Moses sent Chloe Kennedy though to round the goalie and slot home the equalizer.

2nd half Sarnia pressed hard for the lead. Ashley Edgar had a run in from the right but shot was saved. Ashley again found good space and sent a great cross long the goal face to Chloe Kennedy who just missed the tap in. With Sarnia unable to capitalize on their chances, Norwest managed to break twice and score
 2 more goals. Sarnia though they pulled one back when Chloe Kennedy broke through but her shot rattled the post and out. Sarnia then had there last opportunity from the penalty spot, but Sydney Caron had her shot saved. Final 3 - 1 Norwest.
 
 
Sarnia U11's Tie with Dorchester
 
Sarnia recently hosted Dorchester in London District U11 soccer action. Dorchester pressed hard and had
Sarnia under some early pressure. Madisyn Mika, Daphine Hibma, Steph Maitland and Abigail Zalewski  were all solid in defence. Sarnia's 1st chance came from a left wing cross from Bianca Sapone to Lauryn Hibma who shot just wide. Mickayla Moses then played a nice ball through to Skylr Melton to shoot but the goalie saved.Sarnia then opened the scoring. Skylr Melton crossed into Chloe Kennedy, Chloe laid a pass
back to Skylr to shoot into the net.

2nd half Dorchester pressed again, they worked a nice 1 - 2 pass down the wing to cut inside and score the equaliser.  Sarnia's best chance of the half came from Mickayla Moses corner kick which started a goal mouth scramble, but unable to convert the chance.   score 1 - 1 tie.
Thanks to Ashley Cortez and Lauryn Hibma who were called up to play.
 
 
Spirit U11 Fall to Dorchester 
 
Sarnia U11 played back to back games with Dorchester. With a number of absent players, Sarnia struggled to get into the game and found themselves under pressure. Sarah McCormick filled in at the sweepers position and managed to stop the through balls in the middle. Lauryn Hibma and Caroline Forbes were called up from the U10 and also had solid defencive game. 15 minutes before half though Sarnia found themselves in a hole
As they lost 3 goals in a bad 5 minute spell.

Dorchester added another to go 4 up with Sarnia tiring with only 1 sub on the bench. Sarnia did pick up a late consolation goal when Chloe Kennedy won the ball from the Dorchester defence and shot high into the net. Final score 4 - 1 Dorchester.
 
Spirit U11's Beat Norwest

Sarnia travelled to London to face Norwest needing to pick up points to go 3rd place. 1st half finished 0 - 0, both sides unable to score.
2nd half Sarnia got off to a great start when Sydney Caron won the ball in the middle and lobbed a nice pass to the right of Chloe Kennedy to volley into the net for the opener. Skylr Melton then had a great solo goal after winning the ball in the box and shooting high into the net to go 2 up.

By now the girls were playing in a down pour of rain which made for sloppy conditions. Sarnia kept pressing and went 3 up with a long range shot from Chloe Kennedy into the bottom right corner. Chloe then completed her hat trick with a fine solo run through the Norwest defence and score. Norwest didn't give up and started a come back. First a hand ball in the box gave Norwest a penalty kick.Morgan Wagg in the Sarnia net saved the low hard shot. They did manage to score 2 goals at the end, but final score was 4 - 2 Sarnia win.
