Sarnia Spirit U11 Defeat NorWest
Coming off their Middlesex
tournament win, Sarnia again faced London's NorWest in LDYSL
action on Monday night.
Sarnia got off to a great start when a nice free kick by
Mickayla Moses found Julie Blanchette at the back post who
shot high into the NorWest net for Sarnia to take the lead
after 5 minutes. NorWest upped their game and Sarnia was
under some pressure with a number of corner kicks. Some good
defensive play from Alexa Eldridge and Abby Zalewski help
break down the NorWest attacks. Sarnia managed to catch
NorWest on the break a number of times with Mickayla Moses,
Sydney Caron and Sarah McCormick putting Chloe Kennedy
through but unable to find the back of the net. 1 - 0 Half
time.

Sydney Caron hitting the post to start the half, Sarnia then
went 2 - 0 up from Mickayla Moses corner kick was passed
back from Bianca Sapone and Mickayla sent the recieving pass
hard into the net. Sarnia kept the pass going and another 1
- 2 pass between Chloe Kennedy and Mickayla with Chloe
sending the shot just over. Skylr Melton nearly made in 3
after a nice cut back from Chloe Kennedy saw Skylr's shot
well saved. Julie Blanchette almost got her second but was
also denied by good goaltending. Sarnia evenaully stretched
the lead from a Sydney Caron corner kick that Sarah
McCormick struck home from the edge of the box. Sydney Caron
hit number 4 after a scramble in front of net was poked in
by Sydney.

, Alexa Eldridge and Abby Zalewski helped Morgan Wagg and
Daphine Hibma to their 3rd straight shutout. Final score 4 -
