Sarnia Fury Black U9 vs.
Chatham U10
On a hot and humid night,
Chatham U10 Boys travelled
to Sarnia to face our U9
Fury Black at Bluewater
Bridge Park. The Fury had
completed three strong
consecutive wins and were
anxious to challenge the
strong Chatham team.
It was evident from the
opening kick off that the
bigger Chatham kids had the
early advantage as they
opened the scoring in the
first three minutes of
play. Their patience and
great crossing and passing
led to numerous scoring
opportunities but our U9
kids held firm and keeper
Andrew Harron stood tall in
goal for the Fury. Down 4 -
0 the Black Fury would get
one back with a beautiful
strike from forward Isaiah
Edlington. Sarnia closed
the half down 6 - 1.
The second half started with
a goal change from the Fury
due to injury. Carter Barron
replaced Andrew Harron and
performed solid in net for
the remainder of the game.
Fury striker Isaiah
Edlington would add a second
goal from a penalty kick as
he placed the perfect shot
into the corner of the
Chatham net. That was all
the scoring Sarnia would get
but all the kids played
stellar and never gave up.
Coaches were very "proud" of
the Fury players who carried
the play somewhat in the
second half. Great over all
performance by all the kids.
Final score: Sarnia Fury
Black 2 vs. Chatham 11 .
