Short Bus Wins Battle
of the Basement
Week 6 of
the regular season saw a key match up of the only two
remaining winless teams in the league. Short Bus came
out strong taking the first 5 points of the
competition. Although the Megalomaniacs were able make
it a competition they never closed the gap, losing by a
final score of 15-11. Scott Hanlon played a strong
game for the winning side. Phil Rail kept the Maniacs
in the game playing great as handler, as well as Leslie
Smith making two awesome diving points.
On the
centre field at Lansdowne, the Cookie Monsters won their
fourth straight game, this time beating the Dumpsters
15-7.
The third
game at Lansdowne saw Hungate’s Mom play an intense
match against undefeated Huck My Disc. The game was
close during the first half with Huck My Disc leading
8-5, and they were able to close out strong winning
15-6.
The
Huckstables played a good spirited game against H2O,
the tilt going in the favour of the Huckstables 15-6.
Joe Vaci had a great defensive game getting many hand
blocks. Teammate Vanessa Gillis spoke highly of him,
calling him a “Death Machine, with go-go gadget arms of
fury”.
Note:
Game between the Ultimate Suspects and Red Army has been
indefinitely postponed. |
