“Huck My Disc” Stands
Alone at the Top
It was
week 5 of the regular season of the Sarnia Ultimate
Frisbee league, and two previously undefeated teams came
up short.
At the
Lansdowne fields, it was H2O that saw there
perfect season come to an end. The Cookie Monsters
played a good full team defence to win by a convincing
score of 15-5.
Meanwhile, Hungate’s Mom could not get anything going
against the Huckstables, losing 15-4. Craig Kember of
the Huckstables played a particularly good defensive
game, with himself as well as his teammates getting many
hand blocks. Vanessa Gillis remarked that her team’s
efforts were “All together awesome”, and followed up to
say “no, really.”
The
Megalomaniacs seem to following in the path of the
‘06/’07 Carolina Hurricanes. After winning the
championship last year, they have now lost their 5th
game in a row. They were able to stay competitive with
the Dumpsters up to a 9-9 tie; from there the Dumpsters
took over the game and won 15-10.
At
Canatara the Red Army had a strong effort from all their
women, triumphing over Short Bus by a score of 15-6.
In
Petrolia, there was a battle of the previously
undefeated Huck my Disk and Ultimate Suspects. A great
game was played by Huck my Disk, Colin Jolly spearheaded
an unbeatable offensive attack and rallied from a 0-2
deficit and took the first half 8-3. The trouncing
continued in the second half with Huck my Disk winning
with a final score of 15-7. A fantastic display of
speed and athletic ability was demonstrated by Suspects
players Brian Jubenville and Jody Brown. The Suspects 3
girls ran the entire game, although tired they did very
well. |
