Week 5 of Sarnia Ultimate’s Regular Season saw the league only remaining undefeated team slip up at Lansdowne Field.  Some key absences for the Banana Hammocks exposed a weak offence in their match against the Delusions of Grandeur.  DoG took full advantage winning the match 15-5 and surpassing the Hammocks in the standings.

The Huckstables were once again dealing with attendance issues as they had no substitutes for the their game against the Suspects.  In an effort to conserve some energy, the Huckstables played a defensive zone.  The zone effective in neutralizing the offence of the Suspects through early stages of the match.  However Suspects’ husband and wife team of Tepa and Carole Wettergreen were instrumental in breaking down the zone, leading to their 15-4 win.  The win puts the Suspects back on top of the standings.

Also at Lansdowne this week the Megalomaniacs did battle with the Red Army.  Sophomore player Rebecca Fradette had a career breakout game scoring 8 of the Megalo’s 15 points.  The Red Army was able to counterpunch against the Megalo zone throughout the match for a few points, but never held a lead.  The Megalos win 15-7.

At Canatara Park there was a good man on man defensive game between Hungate’s Mom and the Bulldogs. Bulldog’s star player Michelle Neely was the offence and defence for her team, playing an outstanding all around game.  Hungate’s Mom had all the answers though, playing with lots of speed as they took the win 15-10.
