Wrap-up
The
Suspects underlined their status as championship
favourites this week with a 15-2 dismantling of
Hungate’s Mom. The Hungate’s team was missing a
few key players for this final regular season
match. The Suspects’ Eric “tootin” Hawryluk played
a high energy game on defence for the winning side.
Suspects finish the regular season heads and
shoulders above the competition with 11 wins, 2
loses, and a point differential of +79.
Red
Army saved their best for last in their break
through game against Pants Party. The entire team
was on form in their first (non-default) win of the
season. Red Army’s Evan Walsh opened the game with
a D-Block 10 feet from the end zone leading to a
quick point. The game remained close all the way to
a 13-11 advantage for Pants Party. Red Army
finished the game strong with four straight points.
Pants Party Adrianne Sutherland and Nicole Duncan
played very well without any subs, not only this
game, but for the past three weeks.
The
Huckstables were trying to grab onto the third seed
as they took on the Bulldogs. The wind played in
their favour as it forced a lot of turnovers from
the Bulldogs’ offence. A lack of subs also hindered
the Bulldogs later in the game, as the Huckstables
took the match 15-9.
The
Megalomaniacs were also looking for third place
against the Banana Hammocks. As has been the case
for the last two years, the Bananas struggled
against the defensive zone of the Megalos. At a
score of 8-3 Megalos, the Bananas were looking to
score point 4 when the receiver – Lauren Kraemer –
went down with a bad foot injury. This left the
Bananas shorthanded as they had no female subs from
the start, and the game was called at 8-3.
Saturday’s playoff tournament will consist of the
following quarter final match-ups.

Suspects will play an exhibition game against the
Bulldogs as they cannot field a proper team.
Suspects receive a bye into the semis.

Pants Party will play (7) Red Army in a rematch of
this week’s game. Season series tied 1-1.

Megalomaniacs will play (6) Banana Hammocks in
another rematch of this week’s game. Season series
tied 1-1.
(4)
Huckstables will play (5) Hungate’s Mom. Season
series tied 1-1.
