athletes struck it big in the Northeast-10 weekly
awards for sporting contests played during the week
of 10/8/2007 through 10/13/2007. Morgan

Calvin Hall
(Rochester, N.Y.),Cassie Ashwell (Agawam,
Mass.), and Katie Wilkerson (Silverdale, Wa.)
were all Honor Roll recipients for efforts in their
respective sports. |
Mastronardi
scored the game winning goal against Post and added a goal
against Merrimack. She is currently second on the team in goals
and third on the squad in points totaling five goals and one
assists. Her speed has been a huge asset for the Yellow Jackets,
who have seen six more total wins than a season ago.
Hall received the recognition after rushing for 180
yards on 19 carries in the Yellow Jackets 28-7 win over
Assumption on Saturday. He also broke off a 54-yard touchdown
run under two minutes into the opening frame. Hall has rushed
for 551 yards on 109 carries thus far this season. AIC, who
started off 0-2 in the conference has repositioned themselves in
the standings after winning their last three Northeast-10
match-ups, moving to 3-2 in the conference and 3-3 overall.
Wilkinson totaled 12 kills and 17 digs in the
Yellow Jackets big 3-2 comeback victory over St. Michael's in
volleyball Friday evening. The Jackets trailed two matches to
none before reeling off three straight match victories en-route
to their third Northeast-10 win of the year. The win helped move
the Yellow Jackets conference mark to 3-5.
Ashwell scored two goals with one assist in
three games last week. She had one goal and one assist in the
3-1 win over Post and tallied one goal against Franklin Pierce.
Ashwell has been a key component in the Yellow Jackets improved
women's soccer program. She has been an instrumental part of the
back-line, while also chipping in with a much needed offensive
touch, notching three goals and two assists thus far in her 2007
campaign.
