WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY (3-5-0 overall, 1-3 NESCAC): Does not compete again until Jan. 9 at Elmira College.

Hamilton College won a pair of non-conference games at Russell Sage Rink last week, as the Continentals edged Utica College, 3-2 in overtime, on Dec. 5 and defeated Neumann College, 3-1, on Dec. 8. Against Utica, Christie Sharlow ’11 (Potsdam, N.Y./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) converted a breakaway opportunity 2:03 into overtime off assists from Kate Marek ’09 (Alexandria, Va./The Gunnery [Conn.]) and Stephanie Miguel ’11 (Maple, Ontario/St. Robert Catholic HS) to end the game. Lauren Tomford ’10 (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford School) led the Hamilton offense with one goal and one assist. Amy Allen ’10 (Bright’s Grove, Ontario/Loomis Chaffee School [Conn.]) added a goal, and Jess Goldberg ’08 (Pittsburgh, Pa./Choate Rosemary Hall [Conn.]) picked up one assist.

 Kat Manning ’09 (Buffalo, N.Y./Park School) made 34 saves while playing the entire game in goal.

Against Neumann, Allen scored one goal and added one assist. Tomford and Marek added one goal apiece for Hamilton. Tomford leads the Continentals with six goals and eight points. She has recorded six points (4 goals, 2 assists) in the last four games. Rachel Rapoza ’10 (Barrington, R.I./Pomfret School [Conn.]), Goldberg and Louise Roy ’10 (New Gloucester, Maine/St. George’s School [R.I.]) each recorded an assist. Manning made 25 saves in her second straight solid performance in goal. Manning’s goals against average improved to 3.11, and she has a save percentage of .897. Neumann was unbeaten in its last four games.
