WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY (6-15-4, 4-8-4 NESCAC): Season complete.

Hamilton College lost at nationally ranked No. 10 Trinity College, 5-1, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference championships first round game played in Hartford, Conn., on March 1. The sixth-seeded Continentals were trying to advance to the NESCAC semifinals for the fourth time in five years. Trinity is the No. 3 seed. Hamilton got on the board with 38 seconds left in the second period. Lauren Tomford ’10 (Avon, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford School) took a hard shot from the left wing that was deflected into the air off a defender’s stick and fluttered past the goalie with one second remaining on a Bantam penalty. Tomford’s goal made the score 3-1.

Amy Allen ’10 (Bright’s Grove, Ontario/
Loomis Chaffee School [Conn.]) and Stephanie Miguel ’11 (Maple, Ontario/St. Robert Catholic HS) were credited with the assists. Tomford topped the Continentals with 13 goals and 18 points this season. Miguel led Hamilton with nine helpers. Meg Shine ’10 (Duxbury, Mass./Tabor Academy) made 21 saves.

 Amy Allen was fourth in the Standings race on her team with 5 goals and 7 assists for a total of 12 points for the season.  Allen played in all 25 season games.
