Ontario vs Alberta
Congratulations to Golden Girl Devon Beach
from Sarnia, member of the North
London Supernova who
represented Ontario and won the National U14 Club Championship!

In a thrilling 2 - 1 final gave London
Supernova's the win over Calgary SWU Premiers '90 FC, Alberta's Provincial
Champions
in a close match that was decided on a golden goal in the first half of
overtime!

Alberta was first on the
scoreboard as they came out stronger and went ahead on a scramble in front of
the net.
In the second half the Supernova increased the intensity level as
midway through the half, Carolyne Prevost of Sarnia scored the
first goal for Supernova. |

Although they had
several good chances
the score remained unchanged sending the game into overtime.
|
Early in the first overtime period Jessica Terjo of North London found the
back of the net off of a corner
to earn the win and the National Championship for North London Supernova!

After the game Devon
Beach who scored 5 goals
throughout the tournament, said that she
"was relieved that it was over, that we had so
many chances and we kept missing the net".
She also said "that it was a privilege to play for the team,
and I was glad that I was chosen
and made it to the Nationals! |

Devon
started her soccer careers in the Sarnia Spirit program. Beach was invited to play
for the Supernova's three years ago during which time the team went on to win 2 Ontario Cup Championship and
1 Indoor Ontario Cup Championship.

The London Supernova's had an excellent year playing in the South Region
Soccer League year winning their division with
20 wins - 0 losses - 2 ties and also the League Cup Championship.
They also won the U14 Ontario Cup that earned them the right to represent
Ontario in the National Finals.

Game 4
Ontario vs Nova Scotia
Going for Gold with a 3 - 1 win!
The Supernova defeated Nova Scotia by a score of
3 - 1 on Saturday to secure their spot in the Gold Medal Game for
the U14 National Championship!
In windy conditions the Supernova's first goal was scored 24 minutes into
the match by Vanessa Ward. Supernova's second goal was scored by Carolyne
Prevost (her 10th of the tournament) to put them ahead by 2 at the
half.
Nova Scotia scored in the second to close the gap but Supernova Zayah
Romilowych scored at the 79th minute mark to give them the edge for the
win.
The Supernova have a break on Sunday in which
the girls can get rested
up for the Championship Game!

Game 3

Ontario vs Quebec
Supernova Moves another Step
Forward
win 4 - 1 win!

In
a well played team effort the Supernova moved closer to the
finals as they defeated Quebec by a score of 4 - 1. The
first goal was scored within the first 5 minutes of the game put
the Supernova on the scoreboard first. |
Supernova's
second goal was scored just minutes later to give them the edge
over Quebec.
Late in the 1st half the Supernova then added their 3rd
goal to put them ahead by 3 at the half. Scoring the first
two goals was Carolyne Prevost with the third by Rachel
Wannek.
n a very physical and demanding second half Quebec shot one past
the Supernova keeper (Brooke Piper) to put them on the
scoreboard. But even though Quebec was a very physical
team they didn't put the pressure on the Supernova end as Carolyne
Prevost struck again with her third goal giving her a hat
trick. |

Saturday, where they go up against Nova Scotia.
The team standings are
3 wins - 0 losses 20 GF - 1 GA
total of 9 points and hold the top spot in
their division.

The Supernova celebrated a huge win
by a score of 11 - 0 over PEI.
Sarnian's Devon Beach and Carolyne Prevost
each scored 4 of the 12 goals for the Supernova. Danielle St. Germain of Sarnia shared in the 2nd shutout for the
Supernova. Tonight the Supernova play Quebec who are
evenly match. The winner of this game will probably go on
to the Championship game on Monday. |

Supernova open Nationals
with 4-0 win
The Supernova played a well coached
Saskatoon team that fought hard and battled for possession every
minute of the game. Two first half goals from Carolyne
Prevost and one from Natalie McCabe gave the Supernova a 3-0
lead after 40 minutes and then Deven Beach made no
mistake scoring after receiving a throw in making it 4 - 0 early
in the second half. Danielle St. Germain shared in the
shutout. |

The London Supernova wins the Ontario Cup!
The Supernova won the Ontario Cup Final 1-0
over North Mississauga in overtime to win the Ontario Cup!
The girls now move on to the National Championships being held in
Toronto Oct 7 - 11, 2004.
