The
Sarnia Hockey Association Midget
Tier 1 & Tier 2 divisions
recently opened their season
with all eight teams seeing
action. In Tier 2 both games
were evenly matched as all four
teams picked up a signal point
for the night. Beehive Windows &
Doors & Sarnia Cement skated to
a 3-3 tie. Clayton Peters scored
a pair of goals while Dylan
Schroeter was the other sniper
from Beehive. Assisting on the
goals were Tyler McNaught,
Matthew Desrosiers, William Lee,
Tyler Oudman & Jenny MacNaughton
each with one. Answering for
Sarnia Cement were Eric Duguay
and Craig Vanderlaan with
singles. Cole Armstrong notched
a goal and an assist in his
efforts while Mackenzie Fiddy,
Mitch Neal and Jacob Wilson
added helpers. Goaltenders
Hendrik Lindhout (Beehive) &
Jonathan Kameka (as a fill in)
were both solid in net.
In the game that
followed both Dante Club &
Lakeshore Optimist settled with
a 5 all tie. Ben Wilson netted a
pair of goals and added an
assist for Dante Club. Hunter
Raymo, Zack Montgomery & Kyle
Robertson also lit the lamp with
singles. Dallas Henry added a
pair of assists and Robert Smith
earned one. Supplying the
offence from Lakeshore was
Peyton Demarco with a pair of
goals; Bryce Dummitt added a
goal and an assist with Logan
Harvey and Jacob Cunningham
rounding out the scoring. Bryce
Smiley earned three assists in
his efforts while Tristan
Salisbury-Segade and Bryson
Crossett-Pomoransky adding
helpers. Goalies Kenny Portis
(Dante Club) and Jonathan Kameka
(in his second game) also gave
solid efforts between the pipes.
Tier 1’s first
match up had D&S Service Centre
victorious over Pt. Edward
Ex-Servicemen 5-3. Peter Raymo
found the back of the net twice
for D&S while Nick Cooper earned
a goal and an assist. Adam
Vanderlaan was the other
marksman. Jarrett Jackson picked
up an assist in his efforts.
Keelan Kells answered twice for
Pt. Ed. Ex-Servicemen and Connor
Coopman netted the other goal.
Single assists going to Ethan
Kilbreath and Austin Freer. Nick
Gardener (D&S) & Hendrik
Lindhout (as a fill in & second
game) provided the goaltending.
Kel-Gor had a
dominate outing beating Mr. Sub
13-3. Right off the hop Vaughan
Degurse was quick to answer for
Kel-Gor on route to scoring four
goals and adding three assists.
Dan Joyce had three goals and
three assists while Donald
Stephenson picked up a pair of
goals. Both Evan Martin & Aaron
D’Angela
each earned a goal and an
assist. Singles went to Marcus
Cossa and Hunter Smith. Ethan
Dufour had a strong performance
scoring a goal and adding two
helpers for Mr. Sub. Joseph
Iaccino netted a goal and an
assist while Ryan Gould rounded
out the scoring with one.
Picking up an assist each were
Pietro Restivo & Eric Lange.
Goaltenders Noah Caverly (Kel-Gor)
& Lucas Cicchelli (Mr. Sub) went
the distance in net for their
respective teams.
