The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major
Atom captured the Silver
Championship at the Rochester
AAA Invitational over the
weekend with a decisive 6-0
victory over the Buffalo Regals.
Defensemen Jace McGrail led the
charge in the Championship game
with 1 goal and 2 assists. Jaxon
Priddle continued his strong
play with 2 goals and an assist,
while Garret Pearce found the
back of the net twice. Landon
Buckingham notched a single
goal. Picking up assists were
Isaac Oliphant, Evan Morningstar
and Seth Ainsworth. Carter La
Rocque earned the shutout in
net.
Saturday’s Semi Final Game saw
the Sting earn a solid 6-0 win
over the Amherst Knights. Evan
Morningstar had a breakout game
scoring 4 goals. Garrett Pearce
and Aaron Shanks each picked up
single markers. Jaxon Priddle
picked up 3 assists, while Ryan
Pageau, Adam Maitland and Isaac
Oliphant each had 2 assists.
Caiden Smit made some key saves
for the shutout.
The boys went one tie and two
losses in round robin play which
landed them in the Silver
Division. The Sting dropped a
tough one in their first game
versus Rideau St. Lawrence by a
score of 3-2. Evan Morningstar
and Jaxon Priddle scored while
assists went to Isaac Oliphant
and Priddle. Player of the game
honours went to Adam Maitland.
Game two saw the Sting tie the
Rochester Monarchs 2-2. This was
a game that the Sting clearly
dominated by just couldn’t find
a way to break it open. Isaac
Oliphant and Jaxon Priddle
scored for the Sting. Evan
Morningstar, Jaxon Priddle and
Adam Maitland picked up the
assists. Player of the game
honours went to Jaxon Priddle.
Game three was closer than the
score indicated as the Sting
dropped an 8-3 loss to the hands
of the North Jersey Avalanche.
Jaxon Priddle continued his
dominating offensive output with
a hat trick. Picking up assists
were Adam Osler, Evan
Morningstar, Aaron Shanks and
Seth Ainsworth. Jace McGrail
picked up Player of the game
honours.
The Sting are back at it with a
home game versus Elgin-Middlesex
on Thursday night at the SSEC.
