SARNIA, ON –GM,
Nick Sinclair announced that the Hockey Club has completed a
trade with the Saginaw Spirit. The Sting have dealt RW Hayden
Hodgson to the Saginaw Spirit, in exchange for C Devon Paliani,
Barrie’s 2nd round pick in 2019, Niagara 3rd
round pick in 2017, Kingston’s 4th round pick in
2016, and Mississauga’s 4th round pick in 2018 (COND).
Paliani, who has 4 goals and 10
assists in 35 games played this season, was originally drafted
by the Kingston Frontenacs in 2012.
GM Nick Sinclair comments on the
transaction, “We feel that this is a deal that benefits all
parties. We were able to recuperate some of the draft picks we
parted with last week, and add an experienced player who will
bring depth to our roster. The trade will also give Hayden an
opportunity to see more ice and ultimately thrive with the
Spirit. We’d like to wish him the best of luck in Saginaw, and
in all of his future endeavours.”
Hodgson, a 96-born forward was
originally acquired in a trade with the Erie Otters on January
10, 2014. The Sting dealt a 3rd round pick to the
Otters in exchange for Hodgson.
The Sting return to the SSEC this
weekend as the Club plays host to the visiting Oshawa Generals
on Friday night at the SSEC.
