Legionnaires Season Ends in Game 7

It was a
disappointing end to the Sarnia
Legionnaires season after what
many felt they were robbed after
the controversial call in game
six that would have won
the series.
On Sunday the
team was back in LaSalle for the
final game 7 of the GOJHL
playoff series and came away
with a season ending 5 - 2 loss
against the LaSalle Vipers.
The Vipers lead 2
- 1 after the first, widen the
lead to 4 - 1 in the second and
both teams scored one in the
third.
Sam McCormack and
Ryan Trottier scored for the
Legionnaires with Brock Perry,
Ryan Veendramin and Hunter
Tyczynski earning assists.
Liam MacDougall
scored three including one into
the empty net and Owen Lalonde
and Connor Rosaassen each added
singles.
Shayne Battler who went the
distance and played in all 7
games suffered the loss turning
away 25 of 29 shots. Paolo
Battisti was given the win made
30 saves.
Sarnia was
scoreless on two power play
opportunities, LaSalle was also
shut down having five
opportunities.
