25th Annual Induction Dinner

On Saturday October 6,
2007 the Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame held
it's 25th Induction dinner at the Holiday Inn with
over 300 guests attending. Special Guest of
the evening included Mayor Mike Bradley, MP Pat
Davidson and Lambton County Warden Jim Burns and Andy Brandt
who was attending for his
25th year as the master of ceremonies.
During the introductions of the special guest who
brought greetings and well wishes it was the
Announcement of Mayor Mike Bradley that brought a
few tears to the eyes of many people when he made a
special announcement not yet released to the public
at the Awards dinner. His announcement was the
re-naming of the #2 Baseball Diamond at Germain Park
to be called the "Rose Hodgson Memorial Diamond".
Rose Hodgson passed away earlier this year was a
founding member of the Sports Hall of Fame.
She worked tirelessly for the Hall of Fame and other
charitable organization in the community and touched
so many people with her work.

Casier Family presentation
Before the 2007 Inductees were announced a special
cheque presentation in the amount of $2,500.00 was
made in memory of Al Casier who was inducted into
the Hall of Fame in 1999 under the Builder Category.
A special event was held earlier this year that
raised funds. Al Casier wife and family
attended the dinner and presented the cheque to Hall
of Fame President Les Thompson.the special
presentation.

Rose Hodgson Memorial Award
In 2007 the board of directors
created a new award in Memory of long time
friend and co-director Mrs. Rose Hodgson. The criteria for this
award is to recognize
outstanding contribution to our community by an individual.

to Mrs. Wilma McNeill.

Special Presentation

On behalf of the Board and members, Hall of Fame President
Les Thompson presented to Burt Hodgson and his family a keepsake replica
of the award that will be presented each year.
