Ross Dark

Born: Sarnia, Ontario

Sports: Baseball, Hockey, Lacrosse


Ross Dark played Bantam ‘A’ hockey in 1951-52 and was a part of the team that went to the All Ontario finals. He was also a part of the 1854 Midget ‘A’ team that played in the Semi-finals. In 1955, Ross at age 15 signed with the Montreal and played on their sponsored New Hamburg Canadians Junior ‘B’ team, as well the Kitchener Canucks Junior ‘A’ team. Ross would return to Sarnia to play for the Legionnaires in 1956-57 was a part of two seasons of Championship hockey in 1957-58 and 1958-59. Ross would also play for the Wallaceburg Hornets Ontario Senior ‘B’ team, and the Sarnia Rams. By 1980, he was coaching the Sarnia Midget ‘AAA’ Silverstick Champions.

Ross also had a successful baseball career, as he was invited in 1956 to a Detroit Tigers tryout camp. In 1957-59 he was a member of the Senior Sarnia Braves ball team, and would also play for the Senior Fastball team Polysar Rubbermen in 1960-62.
