Storm Win Series
Mooretown were at
home Thursday
evening taking on
Essex in the 3rd and
deciding game of the
opening round of the
OMHA playoffs. After
dropping the first
game the Storm came
back to win game two
in Essex and came
home to wrap it up
with a hard fought
4-1 victory.
After
a scoreless first
period Mooretown
opened the scoring
on a point drive
from Bailey Smalls
that eluded the
goalie to the top
shelf. Nolan
Gladwish and Elijah
Contreras assisted.
Justin Murphy scored
40 seconds later
from Jared Pageau to
give the Storm a 2-0
lead heading into
the 3rd period.
Essex would get on
the board 4 minutes
into the 3rd frame
and continued to
press hitting the
post a minute later.
Mooretown regained
their composure as
Jared Pageau scored
at 7:44 of the 3rd
from Aaron Dobson to
take a 3-1 lead.
Essex would pull
their goalie for the
extra attacker but
never managed any
sustained pressure
and Bailey Smalls
scored his 2nd of
the game into an
open net to give the
Storm a 4-1 victory
and take the series
2 games to 1.
Evan
Musson got the start
in goal and played
very well and was
replaced by Emma
McCormick in the 3rd
who also played a
solid game.
The
Storm now turn their
attention to the
Dorchester Dragons.
The best of five
series will
probably start
Sunday in Mooretown.
