Sarnia Pacers vs Welland Warlords

Sarnia took a 10 - 4 beating in Welland on Friday night.  Jimmy Purves scored the first goal of the game shorthanded.  Welland went on and scored 3 goals in the first.  First period ended with Sarnia trailing 3 - 1.

In the second Welland added a pair before Chris Gibbs added two for Sarnia, a pair of powerplay goals the first assisted by Jimmy Purves and the second assisted by Riley Thompson and Purves.  Before the period completed Welland added 2 more goals to make it 7 - 3 heading into the third.

Third period action saw Jimmy Purves score his second of the night assisted by Riley Thompson and Chris Gibbs.  Welland added three more goals before the final buzzer to end the game with the win.

Sarnia had a total of 45 shots on goal going 2 for 12 on the powerplay.  Welland had a total of 60 shots on goal with 2 for 12 on the powerplay.

Justin Matthews went the distance for Sarnia taking the loss.  Connor Danko earned the win for Welland.

The Pacers are now 0 - 2 for the season.

The Pacers are back in action tonight (Sat Apr 24) in St. Catharines against the Spartans for their second game in the road trip series.
