Before the game Club President Brian Matthews presented a cheque in the amount of $200.00 to Adelle Richards from the Inn of the Good Shepherd.  The Pacers mandate is to give back to the community and in doing so they accepted can goods and donations during their exhibition game with the proceeds going to the Inn.
 

 

The Sarnia Jr B Pacers played their home opener on Wednesday before a crowd of 221 fans at the Clearwater Arena and came up short losing 8 - 5.
 

Action was close as Windsor took a 2 - 0 lead in the first period with goals coming at 3:38 & 6:17.  In the second Windsor scored their third goal 5:00 minutes into the period.  Two minutes later Jimmy Purves scored Sarnia's first goal shorthanded assisted by Lance Ross and netminder Ian Ferguson.  Ben Tamming narrowed the gap scoring at 15:18 assisted by Terry Miller.  Score after two periods of play 3 - 2 Windsor.

 


Third period action saw Windsor widen their lead after scoring back to back goals the first just :32 seconds into the period and the second 5:00 minutes later.  Kevin Conroy (AP) fought back and added to Sarnia's scoreboard scoring a minute later assisted by Ben Tamming and Dan Charlton. 

 


Windsor went on and scored three goals the first on a powerplay and the final shorthanded.  In an effort for a comeback the Pacers found back with two goals the first by Conner Smith from Mike Butler at 15:48 and the second by Dan Charlton on a powerplay from Mike Butler and TJ Mara.
 

 

Ian Ferguson started the game and recorded the loss for the Pacers, he was later replaced by Liew Falla late in the third. 

 

Sarnia outshot the Windsor Clippers 43 - 36, both teams went 1 for 4 on the powerplay.  The Pacers are now 0 for 4 for the season and are looking for their first win on Saturday when they host the Hamilton Bengals at the Clearwater Arena at 6:00 pm.
