Sarnia Jr B Pacers vs London Blue Devils

The Sarnia Jr B Pacers were in Orangeville on Saturday night and came home with a 7 - 5 win.

 

In the first period the Pacers went up 5 - 1.  AP Player kevin Conroy opened the scoring assisted by TJ Mara at 7:49.  Dan Charlton went on and scored a shorthanded goal assisted by Jimmy Purves and Ryan Charteris at 9:11.  Orangeville scored their lone goal at 11:12 by Aaron McNutt on a powerplay.  Starting at 15:46 Sarnia scored 3 goals to finish the period.  Remaining goal scorers in the first were TJ Mara from Jimmy Purves and Ryan Charteris.  Brandon Burr from Kevin Conroy and Shayne Cox from Terry Millar and Tyler Glebe.

 

In the second period Orangeville clawed their way back and tied things up scoring four goals starting at 4:57 and ending at 11:09. Niall Carvello scored two goals and Andrew Stoner and Travis Szabolcs scored singles.   Action continued and in the last minute of play TJ Mara scored unassisted to regain the lead.

 

Third period action saw both sides evenly matched and Sarnia came up with the lone goal at 16:30 and held onto the win.  Dan Charlton scored the final goal of the night assisted by Ben Tamming and Brandon Burr.

 

Orangeville outshot the Pacers by 62 - 39. 
 

Tyler Glebe got the start for the Pacers and after a rough second period was replaced by Justin Matthews who didn't allow any goals after 28 minutes of play.  Glebe made 26 saves in the game, Matthews made 31.   Mike Fournier got the start for Orangeville who allow four goals and was replaced by Curtis Rydall who let in 3. Fournier made 5 saves, Rydall made 27 saves.

 

Sarnia went 0 for 3 in powerplay opportunities, Orangeville scored 2 out of 7.

 

This is the second win in a row for the Pacers who are now 3 and 5 for the season.  After eight games the Pacers are now in second place in their division trailing Windsor.  Wallaceburg is in third spot with three games back with 2 wins and 3 losses.  London is in the bottom spot with 1 win and 5 losses.

 

The Pacers are back on the road next weekend when they travel to Elora on Saturday May 15th.  Next home game is on Wed May 19th against Windsor.  Game time 8:00 pm.
