The
Peewee Pacers traveled to
Hamilton this past weekend
to compete in the Super
Series Tournament and faced
some talented competition.
Despite going 0-3 on the
weekend there were moments
of great play as well as
plenty of areas to look to
improve.
In the
first game of the tournament
the Pacers were up against
the hometown Bengals and
pulled out to a commanding
7-2 lead after two periods
of play, only to be
outscored 6-0 in the final
period and fall by a score
of 8-7. Hitting the
scoresheet for Sarnia were
Jack Dunn with 3g and 1a,
Brett Barnes with 1g, 2a,
Ethan Dupont with 2g, Kyle
Vince with 1g, Jacob
Caughlin and Hunter Taylor
with 1a each. Cody Haas and
Brayden Bell split the
goaltending duties.
Game two
of the tourney saw the
Pacers matched up against a
speedy and talented squad
from Toronto Beaches and
despite a great goaltending
performance from Brayden
Bell the offense couldn’t
find their form and the
result was a 4-2 loss.
Scoring was provided by
Barnes and Dawson Vautour
with assists to Patrick
Wright, Vautour and Logan
Scott.
The final
game was against a
relentless team from Nepean
who went on to be the
eventual tournament champs.
After a slow start the
Pacers played some good
lacrosse but it wasn’t
enough as the final score
ended up 10-4 for the
Knights. Offence in the
game was provided by Kaden
Fulcher, Griffin Dillabough,
Dylan Lavoie and Jack Dunn
all with singles. Helpers
went to Barnes with 2 and
singles to Wright, Bert
Thorpe, Dunn and Dupont.
Haas and Bell split time
between the pipes and both
turned in a very good
performance.
