Coaches’ Corner with Head
Coach Bruce Aberhart
October 17, 2009
Last Wednesday night we
were downed by the Kingsville Comets by a
score of 7 – 4. We were all squared up 0 – 0
at the end of the first period. But in the
second period we fell asleep. I have not
seen our team unravel that fast, resulting
being down 5 – 1 after two periods of play.
We did not make a game out of it until the
last five minutes of the third period, but
it was a little too late as we ran out of
time. Our goal scorers were Travis Harper,
Zach Anderson, Mike Burns and Ryan Hunt.
Assists went to Spencer Lightfoot with 2,
Alex Dawson, Brent Sauve, Jordan Pennesi,
Brett Thompson and Zach Anderson.
Kingsville’s Geoff Blandford made 37 saves
to get the win. Our Jordan Gladwich took the
loss making a total of 31 saves. |

The next
three games are against three big teams and are big
games for us, as we complete the first ten games of the
season. We’re on the road to face the South Division
Leaders the Belle River Canadiens, are at home against
the North Division Leaders the Wallaceburg Lakers and on
the road on Tuesday night to face the Essex 73’s. We
have not played the 73’s yet, but we have faced off
against the Canadiens and the Lakers, so we know what
the Canadiens and the Lakers have, we just need to match
our play against theirs.
During worked hard on practice in preparation of the
upcoming three games. Hopefully we can pick up some
points over these three games. If everyone comes ready
to play we should be okay top do just that |
