Coach’s Corner
with Head Coach Bruce Aberhart
This
year’s try-out camp was probably the most competitive
camp that I have ever experienced since joining the
Flags as Head Coach. We had a very successful exhibition
season. We had a lot of players try-out and they all
played hard and competed well, which made out decisions
even more difficult. As a coaching staff, we made some
good solid choices to select our players. We’ve
formulated a good solid line-up – we have a solid
line-up of forwards, we have a good mixture of
experienced veteran and newly acquired defensemen and we
have a good mixture in goal with veteran Jordan Gladwich
and newcomer Colton James. With the line-up we have in
place we should be able to put on quite a show for our
fans.
Now is
the time to get down to business with the commencement
of a new season. Every team in the league starts the
beginning of the season with the same goal in mind and
that is to get out of the gate early so as to win as
many games as possible. Experience has been that the
teams who get off to a quick start putting victories in
the win column usually are the teams who do well
throughout the season. We want to part of this group of
teams to win some early games and not wait until
October. So we need to get in the win column right from
the get go!

Welcome
back to another exciting season of Mooretown Flags JR. C
Hockey Action.
As you
view the line-up you’ll see some new faces and some
familiar faces on the team and on the coaching staff.
Firstly we have signed some more Mooretown Minor Hockey
Players, some new Sarnia players and a player from
Forest to compliment our returning veterans. We extend a
warm welcome back to our Head Coach Bruce Aberhart and
his assistant coaches Dara Emslie, newcomers Jordan
Pennesi and Seth Lippiatt. We are ecstatic to have these
men leading our team to hopefully another successful
year. This year they will be complimented by General
Manager Jim Drexler, Trainer Perry Van… and Equipment
Personnel Bill Gunness, Norm Hansen and Joe Rodrigues.
I extend
a very warm welcome back, to my fellow executive members
and booster club members, who have worked extremely hard
in our fund-raising initiatives and team activities.
Also you will notice a new face on our executive namely
Tim Workman. We welcome him aboard and we thank him for
sharing his talent and the work load on our club, which
entails our various fund raising events and team
activities.
This year
we are once again affiliated with the Sarnia
Legionnaires JR. B Club. We are very pleased to be
affiliated with such a first class organization, one
with such rich history and multi year successes.
This season we all hope to bring an excellent, exciting
and winning hockey team to you, the fans, to watch on a
nightly basis. We thank you for being our loyal fans and
once again we thank you for your supporting the
Mooretown Flags! |
