Sarnia
Sting Head Coach and
General Manager Dave
MacQueen announced this
evening that the hockey
club has named its
Captain and Assistant
Captains for the
2010-2011 season.
The
Captain is veteran
defenceman Nathan
Chiarlitti. Chiarlitti
served as an Assistant
Captain with the club
last season.
MacQueen
explains the choice.
“Nathan
is a tremendous leader
both on and off the
ice. On the ice he is a
hard worker who plays
the game the right way.
Off the ice he is great
in the dressing room and
just as importantly he
is an excellent
ambassador for the
hockey club out in the
community.” |
The Sting will then
rotate four Assistant Captains.
Kale Kerbashian and Joe Rogalski
will wear the “A” on the dark Sting
jerseys while Brent Sullivan and
Brett Ritchie will have an “A” on
their white jerseys.
“I like the mix of
our group of Asisstant Captains.
Out of that group of four some of
them are more vocal then the others
while we also have a player like
Brett Ritchie who just won a U18
Championship this year and will be
able to pass on some of his
experiences to the rest of the
group. “
The newly formed
group of Captain’s will lead the
Sting Friday night into the Home and
2010-2011 Season Opener versus the
defending Memorial Cup Champion
Windsor Spitfires.
Game time is 7:00
pm. Tickets can be purchased by
phone (519-541-1717), online at
www.sarniasting.com, or in person at
the RBC Centre Box Office.
