A strong 2nd half
helped the Northern Jr. Vikings overcome a tough
St. Pat's team for a 21-7 victory.The first
half was scoreless until late in the 2nd
quarter, when St. Pat's ran the ball into the
endzone and added the extra point.
The Vikings came on strong as the 2nd half
opened. Curtis Robichaud snagged a St. Pat's
ball out of the air for an interception, and a
few plays later with the Vikings on offense,
Robichaud ran the ball into the endzone for a
major. Paul Kaija added the extra point.
At the 6:00 minute mark of the 3rd, Arjen
Pakvis interecepted a St. Pat's pass and
Robichaud capitalized with another Vikings
touchdown. Kaija's extra point was good. On the
defensive side of the ball, Kaija added a
crucial QB sack to stop a late Irish drive.
Jacob Packer closed out the game with a
Vikings touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Kaija
kicked the extra point to make the final score
Vikings 21, Irish 7.
