Hamilton College Field Hockey Highlights
Four different
Continentals scored a goal in nationally
ranked No. 20 Hamilton College’s 4-2 win
over St. Lawrence in a Liberty League
game at Campus Road Athletic Field on
Oct. 3.
Hamilton (5-2 overall,
3-0 Liberty) got on the scoreboard first
when Erin McNally '12
(Scotia, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake
HS) scored her third goal of
the season just 1 minute, 34 seconds
into the game. St. Lawrence (6-2, 2-1)
answered scoring a little over five
minutes later. The Saints scored again
to take the lead in the 12th
minute.
Amy Allen '10
(Bright's Grove, Ontario/Loomis Chaggee
School (Conn.))
tied up the game scoring off a pass from
Sarah Flisnik '12 (Marcy,
N.Y./Whitesboro HS) in the 57th
minute. Allen has scored a goal in each
of Hamilton’s last four games. The
Continentals took back the lead when
Colleen Callaghan '11
(Queensbury, N.Y./Glens Falls HS)
scored on a penalty stroke with 16:54
left in the second half. Callaghan now
leads the team with seven goals in the
season. Five minutes, 32 seconds later
Mary Lancaster '12
(Monkton, MD./Mercersburg Academy, Pa.))
added to Hamilton’s lead scoring her
third goal of the season off an assist
from Holly Rodiger '11 (Wilton,
Conn. /Wilton HS).
Courtney DeMaria
'10 (Littleton, Mass./Groton School)
finished with eight saves. St. Lawrence
held an advantage in shots, 14-11. The
Saints took 11 corners while the
Continentals took seven.
Hamilton returns to
action on Oct. 9 when they travel to
Union for a Liberty League game
beginning at 4 p.m.
