John Dark was a member of
the Point Edward Easy Movers Jr. “C” Western Division
lacrosse finalists where he won the silver medal in the
Summer Games and was Co-Winner of Rookie of the Year
award in 1975. In 1976 he was also named Rookie of the
Year as a part of the Sarnia Junior Golden Bears
football team. John’s lacrosse career continued as he
was the winner of the Unsung Hero Award as part of the
Western Division Jr. “B” Champion Point Edward Pacers.
As part of the Pacer’s John would win the All Ontario
Championship and Canadian Championship in 1978, and he
would win the Canadian Championship again a year later
while also winning the M.V.P. Award and Most Improved
Player Award for the 1979 season.
John began 1980 as part of
the Senior Wallaceburg Red Devils where he won the M.V.P
and Rookie of the Year Awards. He would finish the 1980
season with the Orangeville Northmen – Canadian Sr. “B”
lacrosse finalists. He was named the M.V.P. of the Sr.
‘B’ Lacrosse league in 1981. In 1982 he played for the
Scarborough Saints Major Lacrosse where he was named
Rookie of the Year, M.V.P. and also selected to the
All-Star team. He would be selected to the All-Star team
again in 1983. In 1984-85, John joined the Brooklin
Redmen Major Lacrosse team where he won Defensive Player
of the Year and was a part of two Mann Cup
championships. He was be inducted into the Lacrosse Hall
of Fame with Brooklin.
