Award recognizes
those people
involved in sports
at least 30 years
prior to the year of
induction who are
worthy of
enshrinement.
Dean McEachen
accomplishments
range from great
success in amateur
sports to founding,
coaching and
administration for
local sports teams
with his beginnings
in 1957. Mr
McEachen competed in
Fastball, Hockey,
Touch Football,
Billiards and
Sailing and won many
awards as a member
of a team as well as
individual awards.
Mr. McEachen gave
his time to coaching
to Minor Hockey
teams.
In 1988- 89 Mr.
McEachen was
Co-Founder,
President and
Assistant Coach of
the Clearwater
Steeplejacks Junior
C team. In their
inaugural year the
Jr C team won the
North Division in
the Great Lakes
Junior C League.
Mr McEachen
competitively sailed
for more than 15
years as Captain,
gaining well over 30
Flags. He continues
to sail and will be
Captain of crew in
the 2014 Port Huron
to Mackinac race.
